Donaire will move up after Narvaez fight

Nonito Donaire is back in camp for his October 22 match against undefeated former WBO flyweight and super flyweight champion Omar Andres Narvaez (39-0-2, 19 KOs). After his seven-month long layoff since knocking out Fernando Montiel in February. Donaire, who entered his third week back in camp on Monday, is currently walking around at around 145 lbs. He's just trying to get back to where his body used to be, and pretty much just getting used to it again. There’s just a lot of tightness; a lot of stuff that he's trying to prevent so I don’t get myself injured trying to get back in shape. Donaire also admitted that a move up in weight may be in the cards as soon as his next fight, as he has noticed a natural increase in his weight. This is where he know that he's gaining a lot of weight: The last time when he was out for a whole year, he usually just go up to 137. This time, it hasn't even been a year or anything like that, and he's around 145. Donaire will diffenitely move up on his next fight.

To help him whip his body back in shape, Donaire has been going through hell with his track and sprint training, under the watchful and stringent eyes of famed track coach Remi Kourchemny. Strength and conditioning coach Michael Bazzel, on the other hand, is focusing on getting Donaire’s core back to where it used to be when he fought Montiel. Head trainer Robert Garcia and Jonathan Penalosa will be rejoining camp soon. Last week, Donaire’s promoter Bob Arum envisioned a fight between he and undefeated featherweight stud Yuriorkis Gamboa. Donaire told me that Gamboa is definitely an opponent he is gunning for in the near future.

Donaire will use pink gloves vs Narvaez

Nonito Donaire will wear pink gloves when he fights the undefeated Omar Narvaez this November 22 atop the ring inside the MSG – WaMu Theater, New York, New York in the United States. Donaire, who only lost to Rosendo Sanchez in March 2001, has been on a 25-win streak. His recent opponents are top boxers in the weight division he is fighting, which includes Fernando Montiel. He won ten out of his twelve recent fights via knockout, which is the reason why he is one of the top five pound-for-pound boxers today. Narvaez last fought against William Urina in June 2006 and won the WBO super flyweight title. Bantamweight Donaire is a passionate supporter of “breast cancer awareness” programs.

He will wear pink gloves to bring more consciousness to his cause. During a press conference at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan last Tuesday, the number 4 pound-for-pound fighter also got extolments from Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, his promoter. After his sensational knockout against Fernando Montiel last February 11, Donaire tried to transfer to Top Rank’s competitor, Golden Boy Promotions, but because of the contract he signed, he was left no choice but to fight under the promotional company’s banner.

Donaire vs Narvaez will be for the WBC and WBO bantamweight belts. Many believed that 28-year-old Nonito will be the next Manny Pacquiao because of his explosiveness inside the ring and his humility outside the ring. The October 22 fight between Donaire vs Narvaez is going to be entertaining even though it is not a pay-per-view event. The pink gloves of Donaire will bring more support to the program he is supporting and help more women prevent and fight cancer.

Donaire vs Narvaez fight venue

Top Rank Boss Bob Arum said that the October 22, 2011 bout between Nonito Donaire Jr. and Omar Narvaez is most probably heading to New York's Madison Square Garden specifically at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York. Bob Arum stated that "Looks like he’s going to October 22nd, Madison Square Garden, New York. Donaire with record of 26-1, 18 KO and Narvaez with record of 35-0-2, 19 KO were originally planned to fight at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, but Golden Boy Promotions raised up some objection having a fight in the area just one week after their Bernard Hopkins vs Chad Dawson event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Well Bob Arum more likely was immediately has taken care the Golden Boy complaint and said he's done some arrangements and has finally moved the fight.

On the other hand to the fans that excited to watch Donaire vs Narvaez, The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire Jr. said he will train very well and he wants to be in his best fighting condition for his fight against a strong and undefeated Argentine world champion Omar Narvaez. Nonito Donaire told Ringtv.com in an interview "It's a great challenge to be facing guys like Narvaez. He's a southpaw and a tricky veteran. He's been through different types of fighters and different styles.

Nonito Donaire is serious and know he will need to condition his mind and body and must bring back the same fighting condition that he had when he face his last two previous fight with Sidorenko and Montiel. Donaire quoted "Narvaez knows what he's doing out there and he's never been beaten before. So I want to look spectacular“ and added “I have to bring out the same energy that I brought with Sidorenko and Montiel."
